I live in McMinnville, Oregon and started taking piping lessons. I received scholarships (through the PNW Clan Gregor Chapter) to attend the Highland Musical Art Summer School of Piping & Drumming.
I have competed in the Oregon Pipers competitions for the past 6 years as well as several highland games bagpipe contests, performed at the Jacobite Robert Burns Suppers for 6 years, and at the Kirken Service at the First Presbyterian Church in Salem in 2008. I have entertained at the Clan Gregor's Annual General Meeting and Annual Picnics.
I am a member of the Oregon State Defense Pipe Band, performed at the City of McMinnville's retirement of old city hall and marched with color guard and police to the new city hall.
Community Service
I have been in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for 9 years and have recently completed my Eagle Rank. I have performed at various flag ceremonies, revile and taps ceremonial events for Veterans and Memorial Days. For the last two years I have performed in the McMinnville Relay for Life events, educated students about the bagpipes at Edwards Elementary School and performed at a benefit for the Head Start Program.
I have made two mission trips to Mexico, the last one was in November 2010. The two trips were with AMOR ministries, and we went a bit outside of Tijuana, Baja California to build a home for a family in need. We spent a week there, and had fundraisers to raise money for the materials to build the homes. In total I have worked on four houses.
